The Farris Youth Theatre Company (FYTC) was recently licensed to perform the musical Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. FYTC Director Trish Fields said when the youth was what they’d like to perform – this production was at the top of the list. “After taking time to research this show from a directorial standpoint, we should be in store for an amazing production,” Fields said. Auditions for the production are 4-6 p.m., February 13 and 20 at the Farris Theatre in Richmond. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out.
