Stewart, Reeves earn Strobel honors

Ashley Stewart of Clever Clovers 4-H Club and Alexis Reeves of Guys and Gals 4-H Club were recently chosen to receive the 2022 Harold Strobel Citizen of Service Award. Melissa Lehman, Clever Clovers co-club leader, said Stewart deserved the award because “Ashley embraces the foundations of 4-H.” “She gives her hands and heart to the club and community,” said Lehman. Stewart “has a drive to lead by doing,” Lehman said. As proof, she mentioned that Stewart helped lead the county “fun day” for 4-H youth and has developed new ways to get young people excited about 4-H. Reeves’ mother Melissa said her daughter deserved the award because “she always pushes herself to do better at whatever it might be.” The younger Reeves participated in the Ray and Lafayette county fairs, and the Missouri State Fair this year. She volunteers at the Northland Therapeutic Riding Center, is a member of multi- ple area saddle clubs and plans to have a career involving animals. The Harold Strobel Citizen…
