Spring turkey season underway

Posted in:
As Missouri’s spring turkey season gets underway, the Ray County Conservation Department is reminding local hunters of essential guidelines to ensure a safe and successful hunt. The 2025 regular spring turkey season began April 21 and continues through May 11. Legal shooting hours are from half an hour before sunrise to 1 p.m. on public lands and half an hour before sunrise to sunset on private lands. All hunters must have a valid 2025 turkey hunting permit before entering the field. The season limit is two male turkeys or turkeys with a visible beard. Only one turkey may be taken during the first week, April 21-27. If a hunter does not harvest a turkey in the first week, two may be taken during the second and third weeks, April 28 to May 11, but no more than one may be taken per day. Permits must be notched immediately after harvest, and the turkey must be Telechecked by 10 p.m. on the day it is taken. For more information, visit mdc. mo.gov or pick up a 2025 Spring Turkey…
