RICHMOND – Full-price breakfast and lunch for Richmond School District students will go up in the next school year. Families will pay 10 cents more per student for breakfast, raising the cost from $1.50 to $1.60 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The price of lunch from kindergarten through fifth grade will increase from $1.90 to $2. The price of lunch from sixth through 12th grade will increase to $2.10, up from $2. The price teachers will pay for lunch stays the same. An administrative audit of the food service program conducted two years ago by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education led to the decision to raise student food prices, acting Superintendent of Schools Jim Finley said. “They said we needed a 20-cent increase over the next two years to get up to the standard,” he said. The school board phased in the increases. The call to raise prices passed unanimously.
