Richmond R-XVI School District is looking several years ahead with an improvement plan outlining completed, ongoing and future priorities across the district.

The Board of Education recently reviewed and approved the district’s updated two-, three- and fiveyear improvement plan, building on the original plan approved March 14, 2024, and tracking priorities in student achievement, personnel, school safety, facilities and communication.

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Trey Cavanah explained the plan reflects the perspective of district administrators and was developed without surveying parents or community members. Instead, administrators looked at best practices and approaches used by successful school districts to identify priorities they believe will be important to Richmond’s long-term success.
