RPD grant authorized by council

Richmond City Council unanimously approved Bill No. 23-31, an ordinance approving an award agreement and articles of agreement between Richmond Police Department (RPD) and Missouri regarding the Local Violent Crime Grant (LVCG) administered by the Missouri Department of Public Safety (MDPS). “The police department was awarded the $21,500 grant that they applied for as a local violent crime prevention. Anytime that we do an inter-governmental agreement between the city and another government, it needs to be passed by ordinance,” said Richmond City Administrator Tonya Willim. “This is a 100% funded grant. This is also authorizing Mayor Mike Wright to be able to execute the award agreement and the articles that go along with that agreement,” she added. Police Chief Scott Bagley will use the LVCG for the purchase of license plate recognition (LPR) cameras.
