THE RICHMOND EDUCATION FOUNDATION recently hosted the Seventh Annual Texas Hold’em Tournament at Branded Steakhouse. The REF was created as a not-for-profit organization which promotes tax-free contributions as an alternate funding source. “We cleared $6,400, this money will go towards our Impact Grants and Christmas baskets,” said Nicole Yoakum, Richmond R-XVI School Executive Administrator Assistant. Branded Steakhouse owner Randy Huffman won first place, with Shannon Hobbs coming in second. Both donated their winnings back to the education foundation. Additionally, $750 was raised through sponsorships.
