Ray County voting info ready on time, clerk says

RICHMOND – Because her office did not wait, as the Missouri General Assembly waited until the last minute to create new legislative districts following the 2020 census, Ray County Clerk Glenda Powell said Ray County voters will know where to vote Aug. 2. “It is not easy, but I will tell you we’ve been working a long time on this,” she said. At first, Powell said state inaction left her office stuck in limbo. “We’d been sitting there, waiting. We couldn’t do anything until we got the map,” she said. After getting the map, she emphasized getting the cards ready to send to voters. “I had one of my people, all of her time (spent) … “I had one of my people, all of her time (spent) … doing nothing else but working on those,” Powell said.
