On Tuesday, Farnan formally signed his letter of intent to play football at Avila University, a Catholic, Kansas City-based NAIA program. Happy was scheduled to formally sign Thursday to play football at William Jewell College. Look for additional coverage of both signings this month. BOOKSAND BATS The girls on the Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity softball team have impressed the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association with their bookwork. Recently, the association recognized NHC as a Class 1 academic all-state honoree for carrying a 3.72 grade point average (GPA). Brandee Doyle, an assistant coach to Jason McKinney, stated via email that teams had to carry at least a 3.3 GPA to receive the award. In addition, seven Aggies received individual Class 1 academic all-state honors: Libby Fifer, Avi Leabo, Lilly Lyon, Millea Miller, Kady Musselman, Kelsey Nolker and Addison Schachtele.
