Ray County receives bicentennial banner, flag

RICHMOND– A bicentennial banner and flag will> help with recognition of the Missouri and Ray County bicentennials in 2021. Rep. Peggy McGaugh presented the banner and flag Oct. 21 to the Ray County Commission. Richmond Chamber of Commerce and Ray County Museum members attended the event. “I’m really happy that the chamber and the museum wanted to come,” McGaugh said, because both groups are involved in planning next year’s county bicentennial celebration. “I’m hoping that Ray County can (collect) things that make Ray Countians proud for years, or things that you’re doing now that you think will help Ray Countians in the future, because we all know that we’re not going to be here forever and that someone has to pick up our place. So, hopefully, you can make the area prosperous for all of Ray County.” The banner and flag should be part of Ray County events over the next year, she said. “As you have events at the museum or here at the courthouse or the Mushroom Festival next year,…
