Ray County Museum staff are taking full advantage of the slow winter months, organizing items the museum houses and planning for springtime activities when the weather abates. Museum director Cathy Gottsch gave an update regarding the building and artifacts. “The museum is doing well. During the winter it gives time to organize items and plan things for the warmer months ahead,” she said. While she is tending to the museum, Gottsch said people are welcome to call and volunteer to assist at the museum. “I’m going to organize some work days where people can come up and work as a group. Anyone is welcome to volunteer,” she said. During the winter, she talks about the museum heating system. “Our heating system is running well, and we are getting ready to tackle the air conditioning.
