Ray County History Forum
Two historical Ray County figures will be the topics of the Ray County History Forum, set for 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at Richmond Farris Theater.
This year’s forum features presentations by historians Jarrod Stansberry — who will speak on Bob Ford, believed to be the most hated man who ever lived in Ray County — and Richard Gooch, who will speak about Jesse James. Orrick Christian Church Pastor Art Endsley will serve as moderator.
Serving as president of the Ray County Genealogical Association, Stansberry is also a member of the Ray County Historical Society. He has been researching the history of Ray County for 13 years.
Author of History of the Women’s Club Building, History of the Richmond Cheese Factory, Ray County Citizens in WWII, and many others, he has presented numerous programs, including the Hill Family, the history of the Ray County Poor Farm and the six Revolutionary Ward Veterans of Ray County.
