Ray County Community Arts Association presents ‘The Sweet Delilah Swim Club’
RICHMOND – The Ray County Community Arts Association will present “The Sweet Delilah Swim Club,” a Jones, Hope and Wooten comedy play at the Farris Theatre, 301 W. Main, Richmond.
Curtain time is 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Directed by McDavitt Rogers, the play is about five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team. They set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, children and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage – the “Sweet Delilah” on North Carolina’s Outer Banks – to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. The Sweet Delilah Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of 33 years.
Misti McKenzie plays Sheree, the spunky team captain who tries to maintain an organized and “perfect” life and continues as the group’s leader.
