After more than three decades spent ensuring other people’s stories make it onto the page, one longtime pressman is getting a story of his own.

Danny Shull, Lead Pressman for the Richmond News and The Excelsior Springs Standard, was recently named a 2026 Operations All-Star runner- up in the small-market category, a national recognition from Editor & Publisher and the International Newspaper Group (ING) honoring professionals whose work helps keep newspaper operations running.

Selected from dozens of nominations across the country, Shull will receive a $1,000 prize and a plaque in recognition.

The Operations All-Star Awards recognize professionals working behind the scenes in newspaper operations, with honorees selected in large-market, small-market and circulation categories for their contributions to the industry.
