RICHMOND – There will be no contested school board elections in April for three area school districts, but there will be city council elections. These districts reported no contests: • Excelsior Springs – Ricky Strack and Troy Snelling seek the two seats; • Richmond – Jon Dana and newomer Wesley Maxwell are running for two seats; and • Orrick – Mandy Floyd and newcomer Holly Vasmer seek the two seats. The school district information came from Ray County Clerk Glenda Powell. In city council contests: • Excelsior Springs – Newcomers Stephen Spear and Sebrina Williams, and incumbents Sonya Morgan and Brad Eales,seek the two available council seats; • Richmond – Robin Brash challenges 2nd Ward incumbent Deanna Guy, and Jedidiah Watkins challenges 4th Ward incumbent Rob Kinnard. Orrick – Pam Lewis and Ricky Werle are uncontested for the two at-large council seats, and Tommy Schreier is unchallenged as he seeks re-election for mayor.
