KNOXVILLE – The composer, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, would have admired a site along Missouri Highway 13 that is worthy of his fictional character, Uncle Drosselmeyer. In Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker,” Drosselmeyer gives a nutcracker to his niece, Clara. But the creation is a diminutive doll compared to the goliath nutcracker that stands in Wayne Metcalfe’s front yard about a half-mile south of Knoxville, at 19390 Highway 13, Rayville.
