Mo. to reclaim COVID vaccine sent to pharmacies
JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Mike Parson said he plans to reclaim COVID-19 vaccine distributed to pharmacies, expects lawmakers to go all in on sports betting and would not mind getting a raise.
Parson addressed the issues last week at Missouri Press Day at the Capitol.

Parson said using CVS and Walgreens to administer COVID-19 vaccine might have led to a distribution slowdown.
“I think it did,” he said. “Now that we know that, I think that when we entered the federal contract, our hope was to put more needles in more arms.”
The initial plan focused on assisted living and nursing facilities. As part of that plan, CVS vaccinated patrons and staff at Shirkey nursing facilities in Richmond.
“The federal government thought that was a good plan. But as we well know now, that’s probably’s not working out the way we thought it should,” Parson said. “They’re well behind and that was taking away doses from us from being able to deploy it across the state to other health care…
