Medicare strength vital to virus response
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Budget Project outlines ways the state can strengthen Medicaid to help all Missourians have access to health care during this health and economic crisis.
“Voters will decide whether to expand Medicaid coverage at the ballot box,” project Research Director Lindsey Baker said. “In the meantime, there are a number of actions our state can take to make sure Missourians can access the care they need quickly and efficiently without extra financial and administrative barriers.”
Missouri could extend interim policies put in place in response to COVID-19 that are set to expire June 15. Coverage protections, telehealth and other temporary coverage changes are still needed.
