McGaugh reports busy opening week: committees, censure, pandemic

JEFFERSON CITY – House Speaker Rob Vescovo issued committee assignments, including to Rep. Peggy McGaugh; the House censured a member; and the House did not meet this week because of COVID-19. COMMITTEES McGaugh is vice chair of the state House Committee on Administration and Accounts, which oversees a $24 million House operating budget and is responsible for financial obligations and business affairs, including the distribution of all supplies, equipment and furnishings purchased for the House. “The committee creates rules governing the expenditure of funds allotted to individual members for the operation of their office, as well as chamber seating and parking spaces for all members and staff,” McGaugh stated. “I will continue as vice chair of the Elections and Elected Officials Committee, where we will be hearing several bills, including my election integrity bill addressing voting by absentee with photo ID.” McGaugh will continue on the Budget Committee, which drafts the state…
