Richmond Taco Bell employees questioned a man who for several days in a row was repeatedly going through the drive-through window, flashing a badge and claiming to be a law enforcement officer in order to receive discounted food. The skeptical employee sent the license plate number to Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers Monday Dec. 5. The sheriff researched the plate number and did not recognize the man as the alleged impersonator. Childers told the employees to call 911 if the “officer” came back again, and the department would send officers to the fast-food restaurant. “My deputies made it first on scene and I showed up as well. They did recover the badge,” said Childers. “The badge said ‘security’ on it. It looks a lot like our badges. It’s got the emblems and flags on the side.
