Local grad is state fair champ

A Richmond High School (RHS) graduate and new Northwest Missouri State student fondly remembers his time showing animals, especially his last showing at the Missouri State Fair, at which he was quite successful. Now 18, Joshua Pyle has been showing animals since he was eight. Pyle won Grand Champion Carcass Lamb, Reserve Grand Champion Carcass Lamb, Carcass Lamb – class winner in three classes, Champion FFA Southdown Market Lamb, Champion FFA Oxford Market Lamb and Champion FFA Shropshire Market Lamb. This past week, Joshua moved into his dorm at Northwest Missouri State where he plans to study animal science. Reminiscing on his wins, he insisted that mental toughness and discipline are what got him there. “My last show at the state fair is an experience I will never forget,” said Pyle.
