K9 Jinx retires

Retired K9 Jinx was celebrated by the Ray County Sheriff’s Department for her hard work and accomplishments last week inside the Ray County Commissioners’ quarters. “I want to thank everyone for being here. One of the first K9s we received was Jinx. When we opened up the position, Corporal Austin Crossland got it. He’s done a great job and she’s been a wonderful dog,” Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers. “Jinx has been through several owners in the past and, as most of us know in this room, she had a cancerous nine-pound tumor. After consideration and more medical issues have come up, we’ve decided to retire her.” Jinx will still be at the sheriff’s office and serving as an emotional support dog for victims, he noted. “On behalf of the sheriff’s office, the county and all the people Jinx has helped; we present this plaque to Austin for his partner, Jinx,” said Childers.
