Historical forums draw crowd

Two historical Ray County figures were the topics of the mid-September Ray County History Forum, which featured presentations by historians Jarodd Stansberry and Richard Gooch. Orrick Christian Church Pastor Art Endsley served as moderator. Gooch’s topic was Jesse James. Stansberry’s topic was Bob Ford, believed to be the most hated man who ever lived in Ray County. Serving as president of the Ray County Genealogical Association, Stansberry is also a member of the Ray County Historical Society. He has been researching the history of Ray County for 13 years. Author of History of the Women’s Club Building, History of the Richmond Cheese Factory, Ray County Citizens in WWII, and many others, Stansberry has presented numerous programs, including the Hill Family, the history of the Ray County Poor Farm, and the six Revolutionary War Veterans of Ray County.
