Henrietta mayor plans to put CDBG funds to good use

Henrietta has been awarded nearly $120,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money, which the mayor says will be put to good use “one day at a time.” The Department of Economic Development awarded nearly $11 million to 22 Missouri communities to pay for a variety of improvement projects. Henrietta City Mayor David Mc-Graw was excited to receive the grants, which will be used to demolish dilapidated buildings in residential areas. “We are in need to get our town cleaned up,” he said. “The residents who own those properties that will get torn down – I think they are relieved about it.” “Maintaining infrastructure is vital to keeping Missourians safe and communities strong,” said Governor Mike Parson. “The Community Development Block Grant Program is another way we’re investing in critical infrastructure and improving public safety statewide. These grants are funding projects that benefit communities’ wellbeing while increasing their capacity for future economic growth.” …
