Foundation honors students, educators

Several community members were recognized during the George V. Robinson Foundation’s second annual community picnic through scholarships and classroom grants. During the event, the foundation awarded two scholarships to local graduates and provided Teacher’s Wish List grants to four educators as part of its ongoing efforts to support students, teachers and families throughout the community. Among those recognized were Richmond graduates Sydnee Burnett and Delilah True, who each received a $500 George V. Robinson Foundation Scholarship. Founder Melissa Robinson explained the scholarship program was created to help students pursue higher education and career training opportunities while easing some of the financial burdens associated with continuing their education.
