RICHMOND – The coronavirus pandemic led Cayenne Stark to find a creative way to celebrate her daughter Gabriella’s second birthday. “(Stark) tried everywhere to get a place where we could have her birthday and everything’s closed down,” Linda Desmond said. Desmond is Gabriella’s greatgrandmother and the widow of longtime Richmond police officer Cevie Due. Stark explored asking Ray County’s first responders to give her daughter a drive-by birthday celebration. “I had seen everybody doing it all over Facebook and Tik-Tok, and I thought it’d be pretty cool for Ray County, plus for (Gabriella). … I just thought it’d be magical for her, since everything was closed,” Stark said. “She hollered at me and she … (said), ‘Grandma, what do you think about having the police department and them do a drive-by?’” Desmond said. “I said, ‘Well, give them a call and see … if they’ll do it.’” Stark called, Desmond said.
