RICHMOND – Voting age Ray Countians may engage with the University of Missouri Extension Council in Ray County at the Thomas Eagleton Civic Center, 1015 W. Royle St., Richmond.

Ray County council members usually meet one evening a month, nine times per year. Terms are for two years.

“County extension councils play a vital role in meeting the educational needs of the state of Missouri and are comprised of elected members representing the districts or townships in the county,” support information states.

The county council provides advice and counsel to MU Extension specialists regarding programming needs in the community. They also provide input regarding county employees who work in MU Extension offices.

The mission of the University of Missouri Extension is to improve Missourians’ lives by addressing their highest priorities through the application of research-based knowledge and resources. As an integral part of the land-grant mission, the University of Missouri Extension is a joint venture of several important partnerships.
