ES personnel asks for flood solution support

Searching for support in the completed Fishing River Watershed Study, Excelsior Springs City Manager Molly McGovern, Economic Development Coordinator Melinda Mahaffey and Downtown Excelsior Partnership (DEP) volunteer Keith Hudson visited the Ray County Commissioners recently. The trio is searching for encouragement for the community and Ray County residents to get involved in the Clay County flooding issues. “What we are trying to do is address flooding, because flooding isn’t restricted to just our city limits – it’s also a part of Clay and Ray counties along with Excelsior Springs’ Crystal Lakes. We are approaching this as a partnership to go forward with solutions that we can come up with together,” said McGovern.
