Downtown farmers’ market ordinance amended
Working to enhance the local farmer’s market, Richmond City Council members focused on Bill No. 23, Section 15, amending certain sections of the Downtown Farmer’s Market.
“This is an effort to enhance the downtown farmer’s market,” said council member Barb Hardwick. “Changes that will be made are the mileage radius of 50100 feet for sales of eggs, meat and dairy products must be approved by the Department of Health – allowing the local food vending trucks and no second hand or flea market items.”
The ordinance amending Title VI, Business and Occupation, Chapter 630 Special Events, by revising certain sections of Article 1 Downtown Farmers’ Market. Section 630.120 of the city code is amended to read as follows:
Section 1 A. No person, firm, corporation or other entity shall sell farm produce, products or crafted goods at the farmers’ market without obtaining a license prior to participat- ing in the market. Applications for the farmers’ market vendor license shall be obtained from…
