The idea of a disc golf course for Richmond was visited during the recent Ray County School Board meeting. In a Richmond City Park Board meeting last year, area residents presented the idea and the park board requested the Ray County School Board provide the city with the space to make the idea a reality. The school board agreed at the time to lease extended property to the city. Expanding land in the city’s original lease agreement with the school district would be another need. Economic Development Director James Gorham, area resident and business owner Ryan Lauck, City Park Superintendent Terry Dickey and Park Board President Darren Daniel presented the need for additional land to the school board.
