Dickey retires from city park position

After 15 years of service and hard work, Richmond City Parks Superintendent Terry Dickey retired last week. Dickey was presented with an award to mark his retirement and dedication to Richmond. Drew Brotherton will be promoted to the new city parks superintendent. City staffers celebrated Dickey and his accomplishments with cake and punch in Richmond City Hall. Richmond City Park President Darrin Daniel stated there is one thing in his seven years he has counted on — Dickey. “Terry has come through so many times for us. A lot of times, you know, we come up on the board, we don’t really know what we’re doing,” Daniel noted. “He is the hardestworking man I’ve ever met. If you say something about the park that needs to be done, you know Terry is going to get done.” Daniel said recently there was a local citizen who said she had a comment about the parks, and Daniel was prepared for a complaint.
