RICHMOND – The three online sources that announced two COVID-19 deaths in the county are wrong, Ray County Presiding Commissioner Bob King said.
“There are no deaths in Ray County,” King said Monday, based on his conversation with the Ray County Health Department. ‘
In contrast, an online data source contacted by this newspaper stood by the number and gave a good reason. ‘
After talking with the county and online sources, this newspaper continued to ask questions and learned both sides gave correct ‘ answers based on available data. The questions led the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to make a correction that confirmed no virus deaths for the county.
THE DISPUTE
The Ray County Health Department had tried to get the two deaths reported by other sources removed from the web, King said.
