Community support sought for growing school supply fair

After serving hundreds of Ray County students during its first back-to-school resource fair last year, the Ray County Coalition is seeking volunteers and donations as organizers prepare for an even larger event this summer. The back-to-school resource fair is scheduled for July 31 at the new Special Needs Services building, 912 Walton Way in Richmond. The event will again provide school supplies and community resources for Ray County families, with organizers hoping to exceed last year’s turnout after approximately 325 students received supplies during the coalition’s first fair. Following last year’s larger-than-expected turnout, coalition members said organizers have already begun adjusting plans in hopes of making this year’s event run more smoothly for families across Ray County.
