Community rallies around burn victim fighting for recovery
A tragic house fire has left Richmond resident Alex Wrisinger, 30, battling for his life as family, friends and the community rally around him in his fight for recovery. Suffering burns over 70% of his body, he now faces a long and painful journey toward healing, with an uncertain path ahead.
According to his sister, Sydney Regan, Wrisinger is a strong, goofy and fullof- life person who now needs every ounce of that strength to overcome his injuries.
“He’s very funny, loud and full of life,” said Regan. “And he’s going to need all of that right now.”
The fire that started in the middle of the night on Feb. 2 was first reported by a family friend who was staying in the basement at the time. She quickly called the victim’s parents, who rushed to the scene. His sister remembered being awakened in the early morning hours with the devastating news.
