Chamber hosts city Christmas celebration

Friday is the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Celebration, where Richmond residents can partake in holiday cheer and chilly greetings. “I feel like when the downtown is decorated for Christmas, it brings excitement to the entire community, and it inspires others to decorate. I love to hear that people are enjoying the lights and trees – it is what makes all the time and work we put into the Christmas Celebration worthwhile,” said Ray County Collector Julie Chowning, who is also on the Chamber Christmas Committee along with Jayne Taylor, Tonya Willim, Stephanie Landwehr, Cristal Milligan, Pat and Frazier Letzig. There will be 12 different stops for Richmond residents to explore on the downtown square at 5 p.m and the parade starting at 6 p.m, including Santa’s house, hot cocoa from Cowboy Fellowship, cookies from Shirkey Hospice, and decorated trees at the chamber’s office on the north side of W.N.
