Chamber Christmas Tree Extravaganza starts Nov. 13

RICHMOND – The Christmas Tree Extravaganza – an idea planted long ago that took root – will continue to grow without being pruned by the coronavirus, Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce Director Carolyn Arney said. But the event will take place at a new location. Rather than at the chamber office, the event will take place at Shirkey Golf Course. “The Christmas Tree Extravaganza is kicking off Friday the 13th,” Arney said. “We have 35 trees that will be decorated and ready to vote on.” The extravaganza is a raffle for decorated trees and wreaths. Those with winning raffle tickets take home what they win. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5. Winners will be drawn after the raffle closes Dec. 3. “The proceeds go to the chamber to keep the chamber open and functioning,” Arney said. The public will be allowed at Shirkey Golf Course to view the trees and wreaths before buying raffle tickets, she said. “We do ask that people are social distancing and wearing their masks when they come…
