RICHMOND – One or more burglars struck overnight at This & That, a retail collectibles store at 215 W. Main St. in downtown Richmond. Owner Mike Weber said Wednesday morning that, after he closed Tuesday, someone busted out the window to the front door of his business and climbed through. “They came in the building,” he said, while talking through the broken door. “They got all the knives and stuff out of the display case that I’ve got on my counter.” Some of the knives had a value of around $400, Weber said. In addition, the burglar or burglars latched onto a bunch of Zippo lighters and tennis shoes, but left workboots. “I guess they left them because it said ‘work’ on them,” he said. In all, Weber said he believes the loss of merchandise, not including the door, comes to at least $1,500. A deputy discovered the break-in. Police are investigating. Weber had called a repairman and expected the glass to be replaced Wednesday.
