Bridge of Hope repays loan to buy former Bott building

ORRICK – Bridge of Hope paid off its Bank of Orrick loan in a hurry. On Jan. 17, Bridge of Hope CEO Connie Taylor and board President Phil Hutchison took out a loan with the bank for the nonprofit women’s reproductive health organization to buy the office building at 111 W. Main St. in Richmond from the Bott Radio Network, Taylor said. Shortly after 9 a.m. June 2, Bridge of Hope made the final payment on the 15-year loan. “In, what, five months we fulfilled a 15-year contract. Who does that,” Taylor asked rhetorically during a live stream of the occasion carried on The Richmond News’ Facebook page. At the earliest, Bridge of Hope estimated repaying the loan would take five years “with a lot of hard work and donations and fund drives,” Hutchison said. “We had no idea what we were getting into – and how soon and how often we would be provided with donated funds to pay the contract off,” Taylor said.
