Art, photo show remains linked to city festival

RICHMOND – The rescheduled 40th Annual Mushroom Festival is off, and so is the rescheduled Ray County Community Arts Association’s Fine Arts and Photography Show, Melinda White said. Unless… Chamber President Felicia Farabee said that, because concerns about the coronavirus forced the cancellation of the festival, some chamber members are considering having a fall festival. The idea is not concrete, but that is the best hope for the annual art show, White said. “I really hesitate to have the art show without the Mushroom Festival. I just don’t think we’d get much (visitors),” she said, but a fall festival held in conjunction with the art show could work. “We’d try to.” If the art show goes on, then participants must be at least 18 years old, submissions must be original work and the entry fee is $5 per submission.
