Area scouts leave for camp

The Boy Scouts programs are beneficial for young men to learn life skills at a young age. Richmond area Boy Scout Troop 324 were sent off last week to the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation near Osceola, Mo. where they’ll have the opportunity to earn badges. Traditional scouting programs are operated by local chartering organizations, such as religious institutions, clubs, civic associations and educational organizations – implemented by the scouting program for youth within their communities. These units are led entirely by volunteers appointed by the chartering organization, who are supported by local councils using both volunteers and paid professional staff, according to scouting. org. Scoutmaster Joe Davis said Covid-19 “did a number” on Scouting across the country – including Richmond. “We’re still going strong right now but we missed a couple of years of recruiting due to the pandemic.
