Theater goes off rails in Ray County Arts comedy
When everything goes wrong on stage, the audience wins.
The Ray County Community Arts Association will present “The Play That Goes Wrong” at the historic Farris Theatre this weekend. Directed by McDavitt Rogers and produced by Opal Richardson, the show is a fastpaced comedy packed with slapstick, absurd mishaps and physical gags that celebrate the chaos of live performance.
The story follows the fictional Cornley Drama Society as they attempt to present a 1920s murder mystery called The Murder at Haversham Manor. From the opening scene, everything begins to unravel – lines are forgotten, props go missing, actors are injured and the set itself becomes a threat. Still, the cast refuses to give up, pressing on through the mayhem.
A love letter to live theater and the performers who hold it together, “The Play That Goes Wrong” promises a night of nonstop laughs and unfiltered disaster.
