CLOSE Richmond junior Isaac Kaylor nearly broke the top 50 at the Class 3 state boys golf tournament. Shooting a 162 overall, Kaylor finished in a four-way tie for 52nd at the two-day competition, held Monday and Tuesday at the Sedalia Country Club. He shot a 78 (+8) for his 18-hole, par-70 round Monday and an 84 (+14) Tuesday. Kaylor was among five golfers who represented Richmond at state. As the Richmond News recently reported, the Spartans qualified as a team by placing second in district competition. Completing the group were Latimer Cavanah, Brody Farnan, Amos Farnan and Logan Moyer. Brody Farnan, a junior, tied Monett’s Parker Doss for 78th with a 171. Cavanah, a sophomore, finished in a three-way tie for 81st with a 173. Moyer, who graduated this spring, tied Dexter’s Layton Morrison for 88th with a 179. Amos Farnan, Brody Farnan’s brother and a first-year high schooler, placed 93rd with a 185. Richmond finished 10th in the team standings with a 680. The top four…
