Carroll, Spartans set to run at Lexington
This weekend, Kamaile Carroll and her Richmond colleagues will take their shortest road trip so far this high school cross country season.
The Spartans are slated to run Saturday at the Battle of Lexington Invitational on the Lexington High School campus. It’s Richmond’s second meet this month and sixth this season.
That schedule includes four September meets. The first was Sept. 10 at the Husker Cross Country Invitational at Higginsville. Carroll, a junior, was the highest Richmond varsity finisher, placing 30th in the 3.1-mile girls race in 27 minutes, 58.7 seconds. Senior Isabelle Dooley, returning from surgeries that sidelined her last season, took 34th in 29:01.3.
Senior Daxton McGinnis led the Richmond varsity boys, placing 31st in 21:43.7.
Carroll also finished highest among all Richmond varsity finishers Sept. 14 at Knob Noster, placing 55th in the girls race in 27:21.3. She was Richmond’s lone varsity girls runner.
