When newspapers peaked

The newspaper hit peak popularity in the late 19th and early 20th century. It was a golden age for newspapers in Europe and the United States, as content expanded, circulation increased exponentially and the number of newspapers reached historic levels, according to www.cislm.org. As a 21st-century newspaper reporter, I can be vulnerable and say to a certain extent, I am jealous of those who experienced the peak of the newspapers. When I first applied to work at the Richmond News, I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do. I was along with many people my age and asked myself, “Does the newspaper even matter?” Come to find out, I would argue any day that it does. I take time to admire any printed newspaper I can find. The newspaper industry is an interesting one, and its community is sweet and tightknit.
