Resort to reading
Spending time on our phones and technological devices seems to be all the rage these days. I get it, as a Gen Z gal. The older I get, the more I resort back to what I did as a kid – reading books.
I was raised on Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Polly Pockets, Littlest Pet Shop and early country Taylor Swift. Among other things, I was passionate about up-andcoming technology.
Everyone wanted the new iPhones and tablets. Don’t you remember begging our parents for some type of iPod or music device? I recall receiving the Kindle Fire HD tablet from my grandparents when I turned 12. You bet I was listening to all the Twilight soundtracks and playing Temple Run.
Unlike my peers, I didn’t get a real smartphone until I was a sophomore in high school and later bought my first Apple iPhone after my senior year of high school. Technology is fascinating and addictive. When did family restaurant dinners turn to everyone hooked to their phones like a medical IV bag?
