Steven Patrick Breen, 62, of Richmond passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Steven was born on June 11, 1961, in St. Louis, the son of Michael John and Paula Jean (Steinmeyer) Breen Jr. Survivors include his brother, Michael John (Suzan) Breen III of Richmond; and three nephews, Michael John Breen IV, Jackson Steven Breen and Darien Robert Breen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister in infancy, Donna Leigh Breen.

Steven was reared and educated in the St. Louis area. In his early years, he was known as a handsome man and worked as a model. Later on, one of his best friends, who owned a large trucking company in the St. Louis area, hired Steven to drive a dump truck.

Steven never knew a stranger. He was a loving uncle, liked babies and enjoyed fishing. Steven was loyal to his parents and always there when they needed him. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Special Needs of Ray County or Rayville Christian Union Church. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with memorial services will be held on Friday, Aug. 11, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. and services to follow at 2. Inurnment will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
