Three Ray County teachers receive grants from WGU Missouri

Three educators who teach in Ray County were recently awarded grants through WGU Missouri’s “Fund My Classroom” initiative: Hannah Birdsong, Kristina Rechtermann and Katie Berger. Birdsong, a secondgrade teacher at Sunrise Elementary School in Richmond, received a $500 grant to purchase hands-on activities and materials for her students. Rechtermann, a newly appointed reading teacher at Hardin-Central Elementary School, received a $1,000 grant to obtain a variety of books that are geared toward students in grades 4-6. Berger, a science teacher at Lawson Middle School, received a $3,200 grant to purchase a classroom set of Ozobots – award-winning coding robots that the seventh- and eighthgraders in her science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) class can use.
