Sheriff’s department shows progress with warrant issues

The Ray County 911 Board received an update on communications from the Ray County Sheriff’s Department regarding warrant entries. Upon notice of issues with transference of warrant information between the two groups, the board requested an update June 12. After being brought up to speed during the week’s meeting, the board chose to extend that deadline to June 22. “We will have reached the mark in June. Where are we on everything?” asked 911 Board Chairman Paul Harris. 911 Board Director Kim Davis said the sheriff’s office was inconsistent with warrant concept, warrant cancellations and bonding information. “Have we had any more incidents of people getting picked up again due to the lack of warrant cancellation?” asked Harris. Davis said it was hard to say; the sheriff’s department is to bring a list by Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in order to compare with 911 lists to be sure people were taken out of the MULES system. “It was consistent for a couple of weeks, then we didn’t…
