MU Extension update highlights services amid budget pressure

Ray County commissioners received an annual update from University of Missouri Extension representatives and began early budget discussions at a recent meeting, as officials acknowledged upcoming financial decisions driven by state mandates and limited county resources. Extension Engagement Specialist Chelsea Corkins presented commissioners with a year-end overview of MU Extension programming in Ray County, along with a proposed 2026 budget, explaining the materials were intended to provide context ahead of formal budget work sessions.
