Elementary students learn Engineering Design Process

Dear Elementary students are participating in the Engineering Design Process (EDP) this semester with Richmond resident, alumna and technology teacher Brittany Vest at the helm. With her help, students are making zip lines out of various materials in class. This is Vest’s first year teaching at Dear Elementary after working last year as a long-term substitute for the district. She previously taught for six years at Hardin-Central Elementary after graduating in 2015 from Missouri Valley College. “One of my favorite parts about being a teacher is getting to build relationships with students and becoming one of the safe, trusted adults in their lives,” she said. “This is my first year as a special teacher and it’s been so fun getting to know each student.” Vest detailed the EDP and confirmed she is not following an average curriculum.
